Former supporters of 'global warming'

A number of scientists who used to endorse the IPCC Reports on global warming have changed their minds.

Some of them have made public statements saying the 'theory' is wrong and that they no longer support the IPCC reports. Some of those scientists were actually reviewers for the IPCC reports.

David Evans
David Evans worked for the Australian Greenhouse Office for six years from 1998. He used to support the idea that global warming was happening and that it was caused by man. Now he has changed his mind....

No smoking hot spot
The Australian, David Evans | July 18, 2008
"
I DEVOTED six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian Greenhouse Office. I am the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, in the land use change and forestry sector. . .
"When I started that job in 1999 the evidence that carbon emissions caused global warming seemed pretty good: CO2 is a greenhouse gas, the old ice core data, no other suspects. The evidence was not conclusive, but why wait until we were certain when it appeared we needed to act quickly? Soon government and the scientific community were working together and lots of science research jobs were created. We scientists had political support, the ear of government, big budgets, and we felt fairly important and useful (well, I did anyway). It was great. We were working to save the planet.
But since 1999 new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming, and by 2007 the evidence was pretty conclusive that carbon played only a minor role and was not the main cause of the recent global warming. As Lord Keynes famously said, "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?"

He concludes: "The onus should be on those who want to change things to provide evidence for why the changes are necessary. The Australian public is eventually going to have to be told the evidence anyway, so it might as well be told before wrecking the economy."

Vincent Gray
Vincent is a New Zealand scientist who has worked as a 'Reviewer' for all of the IPCC Reports. He logged almost 1,900 comments on the final draft of the most recent Report.
He is critical of the lack of scientific processses used, and lack of response to comments.
He says "The whole process is a swindle" partly because the IPCC has excluded natural processes in its assessment of 'climate change'.

He says "The Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC) 1992 defined 'climate change' as changes in climate caused by human interference with atmospheric composition," he explains. "The task of the IPCC, therefore, has been to accumulate evidence to support this belief that all changes in the climate are caused by human interference with the atmosphere. Studies of natural climate change have largely been used to claim that these are negligible compared with 'climate change.' "

Dr Gray says "Over the years, as I have learned more about the data and procedures of the IPCC, I have found increasing opposition by them to providing explanations, until I have been forced to the conclusion that for significant parts of the work of the IPCC, the data collection and scientific methods employed are unsound. Resistance to all efforts to try and discuss or rectify these problems has convinced me that normal scientific procedures are not only rejected by the IPCC, but that this practice is endemic, and was part of the organization from the very beginning."

IPCC too blinkered and corrupt to save
