The Christian Values Checklist is NOW AVAILABLE...

This summary of the positions of major parties on issues of concern to Christians is provided as a service to the Christian community. On many welfare and social justice issues the party policies are very similar. Our aim is to deal with the moral and ethical issues that are rarely, if ever, discussed publically in an election campaign but which are important issues that affect the very foundation of our society.

Two versions are available - B & W and colour.
A one page substantiation is also in each document - when printing please copy the substantiation page on the back of the Checklist.

Life Vote

A special website has been prepared to help voters know how their MPs voted on the key life issue of abortion.
Visit the Life Vote website.

In 2008 the Victorian Parliament voted to pass the Abortion Law Reform Act. This Act allows the abortion of babies up to  full term for social and financial reasons. Up to 24 weeks the mother can choose to have an abortion for any reason on her own request. After 24 weeks the abortion has to be approved by two doctors - but they can be two abortionists. All proposed amendments to the Act were defeated - these included lowering the age to 20 weeks instead of 24, requiring parental notification for minors and allowing doctors freedom of conscience in not referring a woman to an abortionist or a doctor supporting abortion. The Life Vote website also records how MPs voted on each amendment. Life Voteis also taking action to support pro-life MPs in the coming election - and to oppose those MPs who support abortion. They are seeking help - you can volunteer on their website.
