London bombings

"The outrageous attacks on innocent British citizens - who no doubt represent people from every nation in the world - is without doubt an attack not just on Britain but on the whole Christian free world", said Peter Stokes, CEO of Christian Group Salt Shakers.

"Our sympathy and prayers go out to all those who have been directly or indirectly affected by these attacks. We stand united with them today to ensure that the perpetrators' aims and objectives will never succeed," He said "Any group of people which does not soundly, loudly and unequivocally condemn such cowardice will be complicit with those who perpetrated these abominable acts". He said, "There can be NO excuse for such acts, whether political or religious."

Recent pre-emptive raids by ASIO, in Melbourne and Sydney, have clearly been vindicated by the tragic events in Britain today, which demonstrate that terrorists are at work in every free and democratic nation. The intention of these terrorists is clearly to destabilise those democracies.

Peter Stokes said, "Edmund Burke stated many years ago, 'evil triumphs when good people do nothing', it therefore behoves us all to strive to ensure that those who do not respect freedom, both religious and political, should be sought out and dealt with as severely as our legal system allows."

"We call all Christians across the world to pray, in the victorious name of Jesus Christ who came to set men free, firstly for the victims of this tragedy, but also that the perpetrators of these atrocities will be quickly caught and their networks destroyed by the authorities," Peter Stokes said.
